Choose by output, not headline rate
- Documented 10–25 Hz navigation output.
- Clear constellation, antenna and mounting information.
- Standalone storage if phone disconnection is a risk.
- CSV/VBO or another channel-rich export, not only GPX.
- Supported import into your chosen analysis/overlay software.
Recording arrangement
Mount the receiver level with a clear sky view. Mount the camera for the best video. This separation lets each device occupy the position best suited to its job.
What you will have
The GoPro produces MP4 chapters with GPMF metadata. The logger may produce a vendor session with CSV, VBO, GPX, FIT or proprietary export. Confirm timestamps and channels before selecting an export.
Synchronise deliberately
- Start the logger before the camera.
- Create a sharp common motion/visual event.
- Use GPS timestamps when both sources provide reliable UTC.
- Check alignment late in the session for clock drift.
- Retain original files before trimming video.
Verified example
RaceBox Mini S supplies 25 Hz GNSS and documented CSV/VBO/GPX exports. Its 1 kHz internal IMU readings are averaged to 25 Hz output; do not label the exported motion as 1 kHz.
